International Mulch Company ™, located in St. Louis, Missouri, is the leader in recycled rubber products for residential and commercial groundcover applications. Its landscaping products, made from 100 percent recycled truck tires, beautify homes, businesses, parks and playgrounds across the country.
International Mulch Company was founded by Mike Miller. Miller, maintains the licensing rights for Rubberific Mulch® for the United States. Rubberific Mulch® is patented under U.S. patent number 5,910,514, which was filed for in 1997, and issued in 1999. Miller is proud of the fact that this product offers such superior performance compared to other groundcovers on the market, while helping to alleviate the substantial environmental burden caused by discarded tire scrap. Miller, who was familiar with the problem scrap tire heaps posed for communities around the country, realized that Rubberific Mulch could help give the hundreds of millions of tires discarded annually in the U.S. a second life as a high-quality landscaping product.
International Mulch Company has recycled more than 45 million pounds of truck tires since its inception in 2000.
The success of Rubberific Mulch inspired Miller and the executive leadership at International Mulch Company to expand the product line to include other landscaping and outdoor products made from recycled rubber. In 2003, International Mulch Company introduced NuPlay™, a chunk rubber groundcover product designed specifically for playgrounds and commercial applications.
